Phantom and MetaMask support HyperEVM. This is the EVM environment within Hyperliquid; it is not the same balance or trading environment as HyperCore. A wallet showing HYPE on HyperEVM does not establish that you have collateral ready for a HyperCore perpetual trade.
The official HyperEVM reference identifies HYPE as its gas token. Do not follow an Ethereum ETH funding guide for HyperEVM fees.

Choose a wallet for HyperEVM signing, not a HyperCore balance
For HyperEVM, MetaMask is a supported-network candidate and Phantom is an asset-management candidate. Phantom-to-HyperEVM dapp connectivity remains unverified here, so choose a direct signing wallet from the dapp’s own supported list. A wallet that displays HYPE has not necessarily established a usable trading connection.
On mobile, confirm whether the selected interface is a HyperEVM dapp or a HyperCore trading frontend before opening its connection prompt. On desktop, make the same check in the extension. Neither surface changes the distinction between the two environments; follow the documented transfer procedure when moving value between them.
If a token is missing, inspect the HyperEVM transaction record and contract, rather than looking only at a HyperCore portfolio. Keep HYPE for EVM transactions and approval changes. Hardware support for an EVM account does not establish HyperCore agent signing or unattended bot execution; check the precise environment, device and interface. Do not export a hardware recovery phrase to satisfy a bot’s import form.
Phantom transfers and dapp support are separate
Phantom’s current network list confirms HyperEVM asset support. This audit does not establish current Phantom-to-HyperEVM dapp connectivity. Use it as a funding or asset-management option; for direct dapp signing, verify the application’s supported wallet list separately.
Select HyperEVM and verify the destination
Use HyperEVM in MetaMask or enable it in Phantom. Confirm the chain in both sender and receiver. The official reference lists mainnet chain ID 999 and testnet 998; testnet balances do not fund mainnet trading.
For a move between HyperCore and HyperEVM, follow Hyperliquid’s documented transfer flow. A transfer to your own EVM address is not automatically a transfer to a HyperCore trading balance.
Choose the wallet for the environment you actually use
For HyperEVM tokens and dapps, check the application’s EVM connector and keep HYPE for gas. For a HyperCore interface, review its own wallet and deposit instructions, asset support and signing requirements.
The Hyperliquid tool directory distinguishes product workflows. Do not infer spot, perpetuals or agent-signing support from an EVM wallet badge.
Can I import an existing bot wallet?
Only if the bot provides an exportable self-custodial key and the wallet supports that key format. A wallet app’s import feature does not prove that a bot lets you export a key. If custody or export is unverified, use dedicated-wallet funding guidance and check the provider’s official documentation.
A compatible import opens the same on-chain address in another app. It is not a transfer to a fresh wallet and does not take signing access away from the original bot. Prefer a fresh account if you want to isolate a new trading balance. For hardware-backed accounts, use the documented hardware connection; never type the device’s recovery phrase into a software wallet.
